Lisa Anne Porter has performed with numerous repertory companies and Shakespeare festivals throughout the country.

She has coached voice and dialect in over 80 productions nationwide. In San Francisco, she was the Associate Resident Director for John Tiffany’s production of Let the Right One In as well as the final Resident Director for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Prior to the closing of the MFA program at the American Conservatory Theatre, Lisa served as the Head of Acting and Dialects and was core faculty there for over 10 years.

Performance

Recent Work

Lisa has a wide acting range and works easily in many styles from Shakespeare to Beckett, from farce to kitchen sink contemporary. Here is a sample of Tracey from Sweat at Center Repertory Company.

Directing

Lisa was most recently the Resident Director for Let the Right One in at Berkeley Repertory Theatre and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Curran Theatre.

Voice and Dialect Coaching

Lisa just finished coaching Born With Teeth at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and is slated to soon begin work on the national tour of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Training and Workshops

She recently taught Voice and Text in the 2024 winter month-long workshop at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, MA and is currently teaching voice at the Barrow Group in NYC. She is developing a training studio in NYC for Fall of 2024.
